My great grandmother knitted all these little squares and when she passed away bags of them sat in her closet. I took them and just started going through them trying to figure out what I could use them for. I made a decorative case for my phone.

Military dresser gone girly...
If you notice alot og my furniture comes from my grandma....My grandma actually saw this old metal military dresser by the side of the road and made my grandpa go get it....it's not light by any means...someone had painted it white but it was still that army green inside it had no handles on it.. So I took it for my daughters room and revamped it...
Old school desk found new reason to shine!
My grandmother found a school desk at an antique shop and had to have it...She didn't know what to do with it however...it was need of some TLC... so like with most things she asked if I could do something with it.... I gladly took it home against my husbands wishes but with some fresh bright red paint I spiced it up and sat it on my front porch and arranged my plants on it... not something you see everyday. I thought it gave the porch some character.
Got this shelf from my grandma's house. It was the aged yellowish color and honestly just painting it white made it look so much better but it needed that special something! I cut the circles out of wrapping paper I had and used my decoupage glue to secure them into place. Looks great in my daughter's very pink room!
Found an old wood tray at a thrift store and I took some poages from a water damaged book I bought for a $1... there were still plenty of good pages in it with witty little comments. I painted the tray in a nice shiny black enamel and then decoupaged a dectorative print to the background and then the images... added a lace trim to the edge. Now it compliments my bar!
Queen of Hearts Teapot Vase
My daughter and I decided we'd do an Alice In Wonderland themed birthdya party this year. I've been looking for things to use for out Mad Tea Party....I found an old metal teapot at a thrift store for $2. I took it home and thought about what I could use it for. I wasn't sure about it being second hand so I didn't want to use it to drink from... It's now our vase...I went online and found some Queen of Hearts images and decoupaged them onto the tea pot and then found an assortment of bright flowers to add to it. I think it will compliment the tea party wonderfully!
Julie's Mosiac Mirror
Took a piece of plywood we had left over from boarding up the windows during hurricane season. I had my husband help me cut it to size and then added the hanging equipment first and wrapped the wire. Then I took the pieces left over from a broken mirror we had and put those in the position I wanted and then did my mosiac colored glass pieces around it. I used a light gray grout for it. By the time I was finished it weighed a ton but it was the unique piece I wanted it to be for her birthday. The colors matched with everything and it was functional as well as funky!
